Mal was a 5x relay gold medalist at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships where she also set a meet record in the individual 100 meter freestyle, officially earning her a spot of the US Team.
She’s been swimming since the age of 7, and in high school she was named Michigan Swimmer of the Year as both a freshman and sophomore. She also earned All-American status in 50, 100, 200, and 500 freestyles. In 2015, she was selected as one of the nation’s top 114 swimmers to join the National Junior team roster for USA Swimming, competing in the 100 and 200 freestyle.
And if all of that isn’t enough to prove she is one of the most bad 🍑 female athletes out there, she’s also set multiple records, out-swam and tied with swimming legends Simone Manuel and Katie Ledecky, 3-peated in winning gold for 200 freestyle at the NCAA D1 Championships, and helped Team USA set a world record in the 4x100 free relay at the 2019 World Championships.
